I'm going straight to the point. Have a year of expenses saved for any emergency (in this case, I'd recommend 8k-10k). Lump invest the remaining in an accumulation ETF.

If your parents give you money for your expenses and maybe more, try to save the most you can (without starving lol) and invest a monthly amount in the same ETF.

Sorry if I didn't answer your question exactly, but this would be my take. Focusing on one ETF in the beginning. You can afford to "gamble" some money into crypto but you shouldn't put more than 10% of your portfolio in it.

Affiliate Fee Payments: 20% finance charge on monthly payments

Main Post:

Is anybody tracking this abrupt increase on the monthly affiliate payment plans? They began offering monthly payments back in 2019. Turns out $1,000 per year is a bit different than $3,000.

From the start they tacked on a 10% monthly fee. Pretty low level stuff but this was 2019 so the slide had already begun.

They then tried to do some corporate care stuff by telling affiliates the 10% fee would be waived for last years payments due to COVID. So sweet.

Without notice the first payment for 2022 was marked up with a 20% fee. I have reached out and was quickly told it was ALWAYS 20% (it was never 20%) and then they went radio silent. My affiliate rep is also being ignored by HQ.

Just curious if anyone else has thoughts on this or has maybe gained some insight. 7 years of this affilaite and a decade of fighting for the brand and this feels like a cash grab to make up for the 2020 exodus. Great business brain Roza. Milk the loyal ones for all they're worth and don't have the backbone to explain.

20% forecast increase in electricity prices this financial year. Does this include WA?

Main Post:

In the budget, many Australians are worried that the Treasury is projecting a 20% increase in electricity bills by mid next-year, and a further 30% by July 2024.

Does anyone know how applicable this is to WA given our gas reservation policy and state controlled electricity?

Top Comment: No, it's most likely not. Remember WA doesn't exist in eastcoasters' mind unless it's about GST. Evidence: the huge number of reports, stats, articles about "Australia" or "Australia Capitals" that just talk about Brissydbourne.
